GRUNAU COUNTRY HOUSE

Grünau Country House is situated in Grünau, a tiny hamlet in the southern region of Namibia. Since 2001 it has become a premier Hotel Pension establishment, and is renowned for warm, friendly and excellent service.

Grünau Country House caters for a number of accommodation needs.  The Hotel Pension offers:  6 twin/double rooms en suite, and 4 family rooms en suite (accommodating 3 to 5 guests).  All rooms are fully air-conditioned, with tea-coffee facilities.

Furthermore, the Rest Camp caters for budget-conscious travellers by means of bungalows, with clean outside ladies`- and gents` ablution facilities, as well as camping, with electricity points.

The private ladies` bar is family friendly, with a big screen satellite television, as well as a pool table to relax. The restaurant and ladies bar are fully air-conditioned.

A freezer room facility is also available at guests’ convenience.

The premises are enclosed with an electric security fence, monitored electronically 24-hours a day, for your peace-of-mind.

Grünau Country House also offers a small liquor store, “braai-packs”, sausage, biltong, “droëwors”, and firewood.

Guests travelling by Intercape mainliner bus, can arrange for a free pick up, or drop off at the bus terminal, free of charge

Grunau Country House is only 130 km from the Noordoewer border where Orangeriver Lodge offers self-catering ( self contained ) accommodation halfway between Windhoek and Cape Town in Namibia. Many visitors to Griunau make the Fish River Canyon there next stop where Canon Lodge is perhaps Namibia most interesting lodge. You can reach Namibia's best known coastal resort, Swakopmund, with in a day from Grunau Country House. In Swakopmund the Swakopmund Hotel and Entertainment Centre is the town best hotel.

SOUTH AFRICAN HOTELS

If you drive from Grunau to the wildcoast of South Africa your first night will most likely be at Sunriver Lodge in Upington, a luxury guesthouse on the banks of the Orange River. From here you can easily drive to the Transkei Wildcoast, in one day, where the Mazeppa Bay Hotel will be your next destination. If you drive from Grunau you can reach Ghanzi within a day, although it will be a very long and tirering drive. Once in Ghanzi Thakadu Camp just five km from the town on a private game reserve will be your destination. If you want to visit Francistown second largest city Francistown the Marang Gardens hotel in a beautiful setting with magnificent gardens will be your destination.

In Zimbabwe there are many lodge which Grunau Country Lodge recommends. In the Motobo Hills the
